The first meeting took place on Feb. 2 at 7:30 pm at Faith Presbyterian Church. About 20+ people gathered to hear Joel Andreas and Ellen Barfield. The Rev. Christa Burns welcomed the attendees for Faith Presbyterian Church. Joel Andreas, author of "Addicted to War," spoke about the current events in Iraq and the US. It was right after the elections took place in Iraq. Ellen Barfield of Veterans for Peace, spoke about her group activities and explains about counter-recruiting. Tomoko Yamamoto emceed the meeting and also spoke how the group came about and presented her own experience related to war as a native of Japan. She read an exerpt regarding the firebombing over Tokyo. Robin Kissinger led the group singing.
